How to Contribute

Green Pencil Magazine has a specific niche. We feature articles, profiles, essays, and poems about the people, places, and projects within a 50-mile radius of Utica, NY.

Before you send a pitch:

Read through the GPM website. Get familiar with the kind of content we publish.

Make sure your idea has a solid connection to the geographic area in the circle above.

For poetry and essays, either the content must relate to this area or the writer must live here.

For articles, the content must relate to our area and it must not be already covered thoroughly elsewhere.

Realize we cannot pay for submissions at this time, though we hope to reach that goal in the future.
